Hotel to Become Wākea Waikiki Beach Under LXR Hotels & Resorts, Following 'Significant Buyout' by Irongate

The Trump International Hotel Waikiki is set to undergo a name change and management shift, becoming the Wākea Waikiki Beach under the management of LXR Hotels & Resorts.
The change comes after a 'significant buyout of the hotel management and license agreements' between the Trump Organization and Irongate, the hotel's owner.
The hotel, which has been open for nearly 14 years, will also undergo significant renovations starting in 2025, including updates to the lobbies, pool areas, interiors, and eateries.
The rebranding follows a trend of Trump-branded hotels changing names and management, with properties in New York, Toronto, Washington, D.C., and Panama City having already made similar transitions.
The hotel's existing team will be integrated into LXR, and the management shift is set to begin in February 2024.
