Trump Debuts Oval Office TikTok, Tells Young Users “I Saved TikTok

The post comes after an executive order put Oracle in charge of U.S. oversight to keep the app operating under rules prompted by a 2024 law.

Overview

  • In his first TikTok since returning to the platform, President Trump addressed young users from the Oval Office and said, “I saved TikTok, so you owe me.”
  • The video rapidly gained traction, drawing about 2.9 million views, 377,000 likes, 16,000 comments and more than 18,000 shares within roughly seven hours, according to media tallies.
  • Days earlier, Trump signed an executive order allowing TikTok to continue in the United States under a security and governance framework reached with ByteDance.
  • The White House said Oracle will oversee the U.S. algorithm and safeguard data for the American version of the app.
  • It is Trump’s first TikTok post since the Nov. 5, 2024 election, and the White House has also launched an official account on the platform.
