The idea was abandoned after Trump’s team, led by chief of staff Susie Wiles, argued there was not enough time to properly vet Bartiromo as they had done with other candidates.
Trump ultimately selected Senator JD Vance of Ohio as his vice-presidential candidate, citing his strong alignment with the 'America First' agenda.
