Trump Boasts of 'Very Hard' IQ Test and Dares AOC, Crockett to Take It

Clinicians say he was describing the MoCA, a brief dementia screening that does not measure intelligence.

Overview

  • Speaking to reporters on Air Force One, President Trump called Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Jasmine Crockett "low IQ" and challenged them to take the exam he took at Walter Reed.
  • Medical experts and multiple outlets identified the exam as the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, a 10–15 minute screening for cognitive impairment rather than an IQ or aptitude test.
  • MoCA creator Dr. Ziad Nasreddine has said the test is not correlated with IQ, and the White House physician previously reported Trump earned a perfect score on the MoCA in April.
  • Ocasio-Cortez mocked the episode by referencing the test’s clock-drawing task and used the exchange to fundraise, while Crockett disputed Trump’s claims in a CNN interview.
  • Trump also said he recently had an MRI with "perfect" results but did not disclose why it was ordered, and the White House did not provide additional details.
