President-elect Donald Trump has personally encouraged Ramaswamy to accept the position if Ohio Governor Mike DeWine offers it to him.
DeWine, who has not announced his decision, is also considering other contenders, including Ohio Lt. Gov. Jon Husted and former state GOP chair Jane Timken.
