Trump and Donors Self-Fund $200M White House Ballroom Addition

Design approvals from federal agencies are set to be finalized ahead of a September groundbreaking to integrate the ballroom with the Executive Mansion.

Overview

  • The 90,000-square-foot state ballroom will seat 650 guests and eliminate the need for temporary tents at state dinners.
  • President Trump and private donors will cover the full $200 million cost without congressional funding.
  • McCrery Architects will lead design, Clark Construction will oversee building and AECOM will handle engineering.
  • Construction is slated to begin in September 2025 and finish before the end of Trump’s term in January 2029.
  • East Wing offices will be modernized offsite and staff temporarily relocated in coordination with the National Park Service and Secret Service.
