Overview
- Police said the incident occurred around 12:30 pm near the Crossen junction on the B93 toward Altenburg in Saxony.
- An apparently detached side wall sent roughly 400 beer crates and bottles across about 80 meters covering three lanes.
- Falling bottles struck a Skoda and a VW and caused damage, with no injuries reported at the initial spill site.
- In the resulting traffic queue, a Skoda rear-ended a VW about 300 meters from the spill, injuring both drivers and a VW passenger who were taken to hospital.
- Zwickau firefighters, supported by volunteer brigades from Crossen and Schlunzig, cleared debris with hand tools as traffic was guided past the scene, and police later estimated material damage at about €40,000.
