Truck Driver Charged After Fatal Crash on Bruce Highway

A mother and her son were killed in a multi-vehicle collision in Queensland, prompting further investigation.

Two people, a 40-year-old woman and her 13-year-old son, died in a crash involving a truck and two utes on the Bruce Highway near Gladstone.
The crash occurred late Tuesday night when a prime mover truck collided with a ute carrying a family of four, causing it to hit another vehicle.
The father and a 15-year-old son, also in the ute, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to Rockhampton Base Hospital.
The truck driver has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death or grievous bodily harm and will appear in court next month.
