Troy Lesesne, former interim coach for the New York Red Bulls, is set to become the new head coach for D.C. United, replacing Wayne Rooney.
Lesesne led the Red Bulls to the playoffs in 2023 with a 10-9-4 record, but his contract was not renewed.
Before joining the Red Bulls, Lesesne was the head coach of New Mexico United in the USL Championship from 2018-2021.

D.C. United is scheduled to open training camp in Leesburg in less than two weeks, with plans to visit Saudi Arabia for a bulk of camp and multiple friendlies.
