- A Hurricane Watch is in effect from Bahía de Huatulco to Punta Maldonado with a Tropical Storm Watch extending to Salina Cruz.
- Erick is expected to produce 5 to 10 inches of rain, with localized totals up to 15 inches in Chiapas, Oaxaca and Guerrero, risking flooding and mudslides.
- Swells generated by Erick are likely to cause dangerous surf and rip currents along the coast of southern Mexico.
