  • Tropical Storm Andrea became the Atlantic season’s first named storm on June 24 with maximum sustained winds near 40 mph and heading northeast over open waters.
  • The National Hurricane Center expects Andrea to weaken by Tuesday night and dissipate by Wednesday night as it moves into cooler waters.
