Overview
- The chase began in Berrien County, Michigan, and crossed into LaPorte County, Indiana, before ending at a Speedway near I-94 and U.S. 421 where the suspect's truck collided with an Indiana State Police vehicle.
- Shots were fired at the crash site, and Indiana State Police say the trooper sustained multiple gunshot wounds, returned fire, and was taken to a hospital in South Bend in stable condition.
- Officers located the suspect’s pickup in a tree line near Woznaick and Joliet roads about two hours after the crash, and additional gunfire was reported as tactical teams contained the area.
