Overview
- Angel Chakma, 24, a resident of Tripura’s Unakoti district and an MBA student in Dehradun, died on Friday after prolonged treatment.
- The incident occurred on December 9 in the Selaqui area when Chakma and his brother objected to derogatory remarks reportedly targeting their appearance and identity.
- Selaqui police said the attack happened outside a liquor shop and that the accused were allegedly under the influence of alcohol.
- Based on a complaint by his brother, police registered an FIR and arrested five student suspects on December 14, who remain lodged in jail.
