Tripura Launches NEP-Aligned School Assessment and Accreditation Framework

Overview

  • Chief Minister Manik Saha officially rolled out the Tripura School Assessment and Accreditation Framework (TSAAF/TSQAAF) on July 4 to evaluate and improve school quality.
  • The framework aligns with the National Education Policy and mirrors the NAAC accreditation model to identify educational and infrastructural gaps across Tripura’s schools.
  • Initial implementation included the recruitment of 226 graduate and undergraduate teachers through the Tripura Teachers’ Recruitment Board to address a shortfall from over 10,000 terminations.
  • Tripura’s ULLAS-driven literacy rate reached 95.6%, making it the third fully literate state in India and reflecting higher pass percentages in Class 10 and 12 exams.
  • Officials are preparing to fill remaining teaching vacancies and commence statewide evaluations to guide targeted infrastructure upgrades and pedagogical reforms.
