  • Chief Minister Manik Saha announced the 95.6% literacy rate on June 23 based on 2024–25 NILP survey data, earning Tripura fully literate status after Mizoram and Goa.
  • The ULLAS initiative engaged 2,228 volunteers across 943 Samajik Chetana Kendras to provide foundational literacy, numeracy and critical life skills to adults aged 15 and above.
  • Tripura’s literacy climbed from 20.24% in 1961 to 87.22% by the 2011 census and rose from 93.7% in 2023–24 to 95.6% in 2024–25.
