Overview
- On July 16, Tripura Police stopped an autorickshaw at Teliamura’s 41 Mile Naka Point and recovered about 1 lakh Yaba tablets valued at roughly Rs 10 crore.
- Two passengers, Suman Majumder and Bikas Deb, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of drug trafficking.
- In a separate raid at Khayerpur, Assam Rifles troops and state police seized around 3 lakh Yaba tablets worth about Rs 30 crore after the truck driver fled.
- All tablets have been transferred to the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence and cases have been registered under the NDPS Act for further probe.
