• Trinity CineAsia has acquired exclusive rights from Seventh Art Pictures to distribute Dongji Rescue across Europe.
• The $80 million epic co-directed by Guan Hu and Fei Zhenxiang dramatizes the 1942 Lisbon Maru incident with over 40% of its runtime filmed underwater in IMAX.
• Dongji Rescue opens in China on August 8, in the UK and Ireland on August 22, and in other European territories from August 29.
• A London premiere is scheduled for August 15 at Odeon Leicester Square to coincide with the 80th anniversary of VJ Day, with key cast and filmmakers attending.
• This deal follows Trinity CineAsia’s previous releases of Black Dog and The Eight Hundred for Seventh Art Pictures.
