Tributes Paid to Journalist and Activist Nell McCafferty at Funeral

Mourners in Londonderry celebrate the life and legacy of the pioneering feminist and civil rights campaigner

Nell McCafferty, a founding member of the Irish Women's Liberation Movement, passed away at 80.
Her funeral was attended by notable figures including representatives of Irish President Michael D Higgins and Taoiseach Simon Harris.
McCafferty was renowned for her fearless journalism and advocacy for women's rights and social justice.
Mourners applauded as extracts from her articles, including those on Bloody Sunday, were read during the service.
A book of condolence has been opened in Derry's Guildhall for the public to pay their respects.
