Trial Begins for Former Officer Adam Coy in Shooting of Andre Hill

Adam Coy faces murder charges for the fatal shooting of unarmed Andre Hill, with prosecutors arguing he was unjustified in his actions.

A makeshift memorial of flowers, balloons and a sign reading, among other things, “Justice for Andre Hill” are displayed Wednesday afternoon in the tree lawn in front of a home on Oberlin Drive next door to the home where Andre Hill was fatally shot. Members of the jury in the trial of former Columbus police officer Adam Coy were taken to the scene of the shooting on Wednesday afternoon. Franklin County Common Pleas Judge Stephen McIntosh ordered that the display be removed before the jurors viewed the residence and others around it. The display was put back in its place once the jurors left.
