Treyarch Posts Black Ops 7 Day-One Patch Notes With Aim-Assist Overhaul and Faster Weapon Progression

The launch update focuses on beta-driven tuning to core systems to establish a new baseline for play.

Overview

  • Rotational Aim Assist now requires right-stick input for full effect, reaches full strength over a longer range, and gains a slight boost at very long distances.
  • Movement is tightened with smoother mantling, a fix for unintended dives, reduced slide acceleration and duration, and heightened jump-related ADS and sprint‑to‑fire penalties across most classes.
  • Weapon XP earn rates are increased so guns level roughly 25% faster than in Black Ops 6, with Daily Challenge bonus XP raised from 3,000 to 5,000.
  • Broad weapon and attachment retuning adjusts damage ranges, bullet velocity, recoil control, magazine options, and movement penalties to curb extreme builds while preserving variety.
  • Multiplayer updates refine spawns, consolidate several perks, tweak equipment and scorestreaks, and shorten Overload’s device reset timer to 15 seconds, while Zombies receives penetration fixes, higher Pack‑a‑Punch multipliers, and short‑range SMG buffs; a Doomsteel camo UI error will be corrected after launch.
