Trevor Bauer Returns to Yokohama DeNA BayStars After Controversial MLB Exit

The former Cy Young winner, sidelined from Major League Baseball since 2021, has signed with the defending NPB champions for a second stint in Japan.

Trevor Bauer, 34, has re-signed with Japan's Yokohama DeNA BayStars, where he previously played during the 2023 season.
Bauer spent 2024 pitching in Mexico for the Diablos Rojos, posting a 10-0 record with a 2.48 ERA and 120 strikeouts in 14 games.
The former MLB All-Star has not played in the league since 2021 due to sexual assault allegations and a record 324-game suspension, later reduced to 194 games.
Bauer's legal issues were resolved in 2023 via a settlement with no monetary exchange, but MLB teams have shown no interest in signing him despite his expressed desire to return.
Yokohama's manager expects Bauer to be a key part of the starting rotation as the team looks to defend its 2024 NPB championship title.
