Overview
- The fire began around 10:30 p.m. Friday on the 1200 block of North Olden Avenue and spread through attached rowhomes.
- Firefighters brought the blaze under control between about 12:30 and 1 a.m. after rescuing residents from inside.
- At least two people were taken to a nearby hospital for smoke inhalation, with official injury totals still pending.
- Red Cross New Jersey said volunteers aided 16 people from three families with temporary lodging, food and clothing and plan to meet additional families.
- Investigators have not determined the cause, and police, fire, public works and PSE&G operated at the scene through the night.
