Trees Felled Across Road Cause Two Pre-Dawn Crashes in Haute-Garonne

The Toulouse prosecutor has launched a flagrant investigation into a planned road obstruction that left two motorists hospitalized.

  • Two separate collisions occurred at about 4:15 a.m. and 5:45 a.m. on the D826 near Francarville in the night of January 15–16.
  • Gendarmes found four trees deliberately cut to block the roadway and the words “Pour le préfet” written on the pavement.
  • The injured drivers are 43 and 50 years old, with one suffering serious eye injuries and being treated at CHU Toulouse and the other reporting neck pain.
