The recall affects products sold under various brand names at major retailers such as Walmart, Target, Kroger, and Publix, among others.
Listeria monocytogenes can cause severe infections, particularly in young children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems, and may lead to miscarriages in pregnant women.
Consumers are advised to check UPC codes, lot numbers, and best-by dates to identify recalled products and either dispose of them or return them for a refund.
No illnesses have been reported so far, and the recall is being conducted as a precautionary measure.
