Travis Kelce's Foundation Funds Repairs for Long-Time Kansas City Resident's Home

Gloria White, a former athlete and first Black cheerleader at her Topeka middle school, can continue to live in her home of 56 years thanks to the efforts of 87 & Running and Rebuilding Together Kansas City.

  • Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce's foundation, 87 & Running, partnered with Rebuilding Together Kansas City to fund repairs for the home of Gloria White, a long-time Kansas City resident and former athlete.
  • White's home was in disrepair, with issues including sewage damage, broken stairs, and a need for a new roof, gutters, safety latches, and work in the bathroom and kitchen.
  • Kelce learned about White's situation through a connection with former Chiefs player Otis Taylor, who is married to one of White's relatives.
  • With the repairs, White will be able to remain in the house she has lived in for 56 years.
  • White, who was the first Black cheerleader at her Topeka middle school and competed at the Olympic Trials in 1960, continues to work with young children who aspire to be athletes.
