Overview
- Wednesday’s initial practice report listed Travis Etienne Jr. as a limited participant with a hamstring issue, marking his first appearance on the Saints’ injury report this season.
- Through two games Etienne has 17 carries for 71 rushing yards and nine catches for 38 receiving yards with no touchdowns, a modest start that has drawn extra scrutiny given his offseason multi-year signing.
- The Saints also placed multiple players on the initial report, including WR Barion Brown (hamstring), CB Martin Emerson Jr. (shoulder), DL Christen Miller (toe), S Jonas Sanker (knee), DL Nathan Shepherd (hip), and EDGE Chase Young (calf).
- If Etienne is limited or unavailable on Sunday the Saints are likely to increase Alvin Kamara’s snap share with Kendre Miller as an additional option, a shift that could change third-down and passing-game packages.
- Coaches will issue two more official injury reports before game day and Thursday and Friday practices will determine Etienne’s final status and how the Saints adjust their game plan for the Raiders.
