- A court-notified transcription of Maribel Vilaplana’s sworn testimony describes a professional lunch with then–Valencian president Carlos Mazón from about 15:00 to 18:45 on 29 October 2024.
- Vilaplana says Mazón repeatedly stepped out to answer his phone and told her it was “for the usual, for the photo,” while she heard no references to Dana, CECOPI, rain or alerts.
- Reporting based on the investigation states then–Justice and Interior minister Salomé Pradas called him four times, warning at 17:37 of extreme gravity in Utiel/Requena and later of possible overflow at the Forata reservoir.
- Despite those updates, accounts indicate the meal continued until roughly 18:45, with later calls to Mazón at 19:10 and 19:36 not connecting during a reported 18:57–19:34 window when he was unreachable.
