Overview

• Deutsche Bahn restored partial operations, with Regio-S-Bahn line RS2 running at least hourly between Bremen and Bremerhaven.
• Regional express services RE8 and RE9 from Hannover and Osnabrück currently terminate at Bremen Hauptbahnhof and do not continue to Bremerhaven.
• The replacement bus shuttle between Bremen-Burg and Bremen Hauptbahnhof has been withdrawn as the RS2 again covers the full route.
• Only one track is available at the affected level crossing, which is being shared by the RS2 and freight traffic, and there is no time frame yet for reopening the second track.
• Police and federal authorities continue to examine whether the crossing barrier was open during Tuesday’s collision that killed a 19-year-old motorist, with roughly 150 train passengers reported uninjured.
