In a separate incident, an unattended backpack at Mainz Hauptbahnhof prompted the closure of platforms 4 and 5.
A police search, including a sniffer dog, found no explosives in the Mainz backpack, which contained only everyday items.
Both incidents caused brief disruptions during morning peak hours but were resolved without significant impact on train schedules.
