TRAI August Report: Jio Leads Net Mobile Adds as BSNL Rebounds, Airtel Gains, Vi Sheds Users

- India added 35.19 lakh wireless subscribers in August, taking the total mobile base to 1,167.03 million, according to TRAI.
- Reliance Jio led with 19.49 lakh mobile additions and recorded a 15.51 lakh decline in wireline subscribers, while state-run BSNL added 13.85 lakh mobile users and Bharti Airtel gained 4.96 lakh.
- Vodafone Idea lost 3.09 lakh mobile subscribers during the month.
- Active mobile users reached 1,086.18 million, representing 93.07% of the total wireless base.
- Broadband subscriptions rose to 989.58 million, while the wireline base fell to 46.51 million with a net monthly decline of 1.61 million, and 15.05 million MNP requests were filed.
