Tragic Fire in Mumbai's Lokhandwala Complex Claims Three Lives

An early morning blaze on the 10th floor of Riya Palace in Andheri West resulted in the deaths of an elderly couple and their house help.

The fire broke out around 8 am on the 10th floor of the 14-storey Riya Palace building in Lokhandwala Complex, Andheri West.
Victims included Chandraprakash Soni, 74, his wife Kanta Soni, 74, and their house help, Pelubeta, 42, who were declared dead at Cooper Hospital.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing thick smoke and flames, with the fire largely contained to the 10th-floor apartment.
Firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze within an hour, but narrow roads in the area delayed rescue operations.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, with preliminary reports suggesting a possible short circuit as the trigger.
