Traffic Police Roll Out 90-Day Madhuban Chowk Diversions as Dwarka Expressway Tunnels Close

Authorities laid out precise detours to guide motorists through the three-month infrastructure works.

Overview

  • The Delhi Traffic Police advisory enforces 90-day traffic diversions at Madhuban Chowk to accommodate DMRC’s foot overbridge connecting Pitampura and the new Madhuban Chowk metro stations.
  • Both northbound and southbound tubes of the Dwarka Expressway tunnels have been shut since 11 pm on August 12 for maintenance and cleaning until further notice.
  • Motorists are directed to use the Britannia→Punjabi Bagh→Peeragarhi route and the Sai Baba Chowk→M2K Rohini→Outer Ring Road corridor with a U-turn near Rani Bagh police station as primary detours.
  • Commuters heading to the airport or west Delhi are advised to travel via the road above the tunnels, namely Dwarka Link Road and Dwarka–Palam Road.
  • Drivers should anticipate heavy congestion on alternate routes during peak hours, consider off-peak travel or public transport, and adhere to diversion signs and instructions from on-ground traffic personnel.
