Overview

  • Aaranyak, with support from LIC Housing Finance Ltd., oversaw the rejuvenation of Bhawani Dong in Uttor Garuajhar and Orang Dong in No. 2 Sonajuli village.
  • Bhawani Dong now delivers a steady dry-season flow to 1,500 households, benefiting over 10,000 people in Garuajhar and downstream settlements.
  • Orang Dong’s repair has restored irrigation to nearly 500 bighas of farmland, supporting cultivation for around 120 households.
  • Villagers led the project at every step, clearing sediment, repairing embankments and reviving community-based water management committees.
  • The initiative has reactivated abandoned agricultural lands and bolstered rural communities against seasonal water scarcity.
