Trader Joe’s Recalls Vampire Slayer Garlic Cheddar Curds for Listeria Risk

Overview

  • On June 20, Face Rock Creamery voluntarily recalled two lots of Vampire Slayer Garlic Cheddar Curds sold at Trader Joe’s locations in northern California and northern Nevada after routine sampling detected possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
  • The curds were packaged in six-ounce sealed plastic cups bearing a Use By date of August 29, 2025, a Universal Product Code of 851222005287 and lot numbers 20250519VS01 and 20250519VS02.
  • Face Rock Creamery has notified the Food and Drug Administration and the Oregon Department of Agriculture and is collaborating with them to trace the source of the contamination.
  • No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the recalled cheese curds.
  • Consumers who purchased the affected product are advised to stop consuming it and return the curds to any Trader Joe’s store for a full refund.
