Overview
- National Rail and TfL report a speed restriction over defective track near Hayes & Harlington that is reducing capacity and causing cancellations and delays between Reading or Heathrow Terminal 5 and London Paddington.
- Elizabeth line, Great Western Railway and Heathrow Express services are affected on the Paddington corridor, with short‑notice alterations and some trains starting or terminating at intermediate stations.
- TfL advises passengers to check before travel, allow extra time, and use ticket acceptance on alternatives such as GWR, local buses between West Drayton and Paddington, and the Underground on reasonable routes.
- A separate signalling fault and an operational incident between East Croydon and Purley are causing major disruption for Gatwick Express, Southern and Thameslink, with cancellations and delays of up to 90 minutes.
- Planned engineering works on November 15–16 will close the Elizabeth line’s central section and suspend all Heathrow Express and Elizabeth line services to and from Heathrow, while the Piccadilly line is expected to run normally.
