Overview

• The crash on August 7 in the Purcell Range claimed the lives of Stacey Tourout and Matthew Yeomans after their vehicle plunged about 200 metres and tumbled multiple times.
• Kaslo Search & Rescue dispatched two ground teams, a quad team and a helicopter to reach the remote Silver Cup Ridge site under difficult terrain and fading daylight.
• Rescuers found Yeomans deceased at the scene and transported Tourout to hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
• Local police have opened an investigation and currently consider loss of control on uneven off-road ground as the probable cause of the accident.
