Overview
- The Hilux BEV uses a 59.2 kWh battery and dual e-axles for permanent all-wheel drive, targeting about 240 km WLTP range, a 715 kg payload and 1,600 kg towing, with up to 150 kW DC fast charging and a protected battery for off-road use.
- Toyota’s roadmap sets the 48V mild-hybrid diesel for spring 2026 production and plans series production of a fuel-cell Hilux for 2028.
- For Europe, the new model will initially be offered primarily with the existing 2.8-liter mild-hybrid diesel, with pricing and detailed timing for the BEV not yet disclosed.
- The pickup retains its ladder-frame IMV platform and will be sold only as a double cab with standard all-wheel drive, electric power steering and an expanded Toyota T‑Mate suite with over-the-air updates.
- Toyota positions the electric variant for commercial and municipal duty cycles, and the ninth-generation model will serve global markets with production centered in Thailand.
