Toyota Unveils GR Yaris Morizo RR Prototype With 200-Unit Run

Lessons from Toyota’s 2025 Nürburgring campaign under Akio Toyoda’s ‘Morizo’ persona shape the prototype’s aero, chassis, and software.

Overview

  • Toyota presented the special edition at the Tokyo Auto Salon, confirming a total of 200 cars for production.
  • Allocation is split between 100 units for Japan—to be sold via a lottery—and 100 for select European markets.
  • Race-derived changes include a carbon-fibre rear wing and bonnet, revised splitter and side skirts, retuned suspension for uneven surfaces, and updated electric power steering.
  • The model adopts an exclusive eight-speed Gazoo Racing Direct Automatic Transmission with no manual option.
  • A new Morizo Mode sets the all-wheel-drive torque split to 50:50, interior and exterior finishes are unique to this edition, and Toyota has not confirmed any power increase beyond the standard 221 kW and 400 Nm.
