Toyota to Restart Brazil Vehicle Production on Nov. 3 Using Imported Engines

Production will prioritize hybrid Corolla variants, with combustion models expected back in early 2026.

Overview

  • Corolla and Corolla Cross hybrids will be the only models built through December as Toyota restores inventory for domestic and export markets.
  • Combustion versions are slated to return between January and February 2026, and Toyota says lost conventional output this year will not be recovered.
  • Employees at Indaiatuba and Sorocaba resume on October 21 after emergency leave, while most of Porto Feliz’s workforce remains on temporary layoff.
  • The Porto Feliz engine plant sustained severe structural damage, equipment will be relocated to a safe area for repairs, and there is no restart date.
  • The Yaris Cross launch shifts to 2026 because its new engine depends on Porto Feliz and there is no external production alternative.
