Toyota to Restart Brazil Car Production Nov. 3 With Hybrids First

Argentina's Zárate plant maintains output using parts sourced from Toyota's Asian network.

Overview

  • Vehicle assembly at Indaiatuba and Sorocaba will resume on November 3, starting with hybrid Corolla and Corolla Cross for Brazil and export, including Argentina.
  • The restart plan targets recovery of hybrid volumes lost between September 23 and October 31 after storm damage halted supplies from the Porto Feliz engine plant.
  • Yaris and conventional-engine Corolla and Corolla Cross are scheduled to return to assembly in January 2026, with regular output expected by February.
  • The Porto Feliz facility remains closed without a reopening date as equipment is assessed and some units are relocated to other sites.
  • Production in Argentina continues for Hilux, SW4 and Hiace after Toyota replaced Porto Feliz-sourced components with parts from Asian suppliers, and dealers report stock to cover most current orders.
