Toyota to Reproduce AE86 4A‑GE Head and Block With Modern Updates, Pre‑Orders This Weekend

General sales begin in May 2026 under Toyota's GR Heritage Parts program supporting classic restorations.

Overview

  • Toyota will reissue 4A‑GE cylinder head and block sub‑assemblies for the AE86 Corolla Levin and Sprinter Trueno through the GR Heritage Parts initiative.
  • The head gains additional machining to reduce cast surface variation, intake‑port coating to smooth surfaces, full cam cap knock pins, and thicker walls on select intake and exhaust ports.
  • The block uses modern honing for tighter bore precision, higher‑rigidity cast iron, and simulation‑driven crank‑cap changes to boost durability.
  • Added bosses and ribs allow transverse mounting, extending compatibility to certain FWD models such as the Corolla FX‑16.
  • The parts and an AE86 built with them will be shown at Fuji Speedway on September 13–14 with on‑site pre‑orders, with pricing to be announced closer to the May 2026 rollout.
