Toyota Starts Sales of e-Palette, a Modular BEV for Mobility Services

Toyota targets Level 4 autonomy by fiscal 2027 through partner trials following the Japan launch.

Overview

  • Initial rollouts are planned at TOYOTA ARENA TOKYO and at Toyota Woven City.
  • The production model uses Level 2 driver assistance today and is engineered for Automated Driving Kits via Toyota's Vehicle Control Interface.
  • The low-floor, modular interior supports shuttle, retail and entertainment layouts with wide sliding doors, an electric ramp and height adjustment for wheelchair access.
  • Key figures include a 72.82 kWh battery, around 250 km WLTC range, up to 17 occupants, a top speed of 80 km/h and a curb weight of 2,950 kg.
  • Pricing starts at ¥29,000,000 in Japan, with DC fast charging to 80% in roughly 40 minutes, Vehicle-to-Load power supply and a GaadiWaadi-reported subsidy that could lower the effective price to about ¥13.165 million.
