Toyota Sets Nov. 3 Restart for Brazil Plants, Prioritizes Hybrid Corolla Output

The company will import components to bridge the outage at its storm-damaged Porto Feliz plant.

Overview

  • Vehicle assembly in Indaiatuba and Sorocaba will resume gradually on November 3 with a focus on hybrid Corolla and Corolla Cross units for Brazil and export, including Argentina.
  • Toyota’s November–December schedule targets recovery of hybrid volumes lost during the September 23 to October 31 shutdown.
  • Production of Yaris and non-hybrid Corolla and Corolla Cross is slated to return in January 2026, with regular output expected by February, while the Yaris Cross launch is postponed pending a new date.
  • The Porto Feliz engine facility remains without a restart date as teams evaluate equipment and relocate some machinery, and worker suspensions there continue.
  • Argentina’s Zárate plant keeps Hilux, SW4 and Hiace production running after substituting parts with support from Toyota Asia, and Brazilian vehicle-plant staff are due back on October 21 ahead of the phased restart.
