The company sold 322,463 hybrid vehicles in November, bringing its total hybrid sales for the year to 3.1 million, a 30% increase from the previous year.
Sales of Toyota's battery electric vehicles also increased this year, with about 95,000 units sold, a fourfold increase from the previous year.
Despite a scandal involving its subsidiary Daihatsu, where collision safety tests were rigged, Toyota's global production surged by 11% in November.
Toyota's sales in China grew 17% year-on-year in November, even amid a rise of Chinese EV automakers and a general shift toward electric cars in that market.
