Toyota Recalls 591,000 Vehicles for Digital Cluster Failures That Can Hide Safety Alerts

Regulators say blank 12.3-inch displays obscure vital information, prompting free dealer fixes.

Overview

  • About 591,377 Toyota and Lexus vehicles from the 2023–2025 model years are covered across 15 models, including RAV4, Camry, Tacoma, GR Corolla and the Lexus LS, RX and TX.
  • NHTSA says the instrument cluster can go blank at startup or while driving, hiding speed and warning indicators and increasing crash risk, though Toyota has reported no related injuries.
  • Dealers will update instrument-panel software for non–plug-in hybrids at no cost, and plug-in hybrids will receive a software update or a replacement display free of charge.
  • Toyota says owner notification letters will go out by mid-November, and some reports indicate repairs may not be immediately available in all cases.
  • Owners can check VINs and recall status using NHTSA resources or by calling Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331 with recall numbers 25TB08 and 25TA08 for Toyota and 25LB05 and 25LA05 for Lexus.
