Toyota Recalls 591,000 Vehicles for Digital Cluster Failures Hiding Critical Alerts

Regulators outlined free dealer fixes after identifying 12.3-inch displays that may go blank at startup or while driving.

Overview

  • NHTSA detailed roughly 591,377 affected Toyota and Lexus vehicles across about 15 models from model years 2023–2025, including RAV4, Camry, GR Corolla, 4Runner, Highlander, Tacoma, and Lexus LS, RX and TX.
  • Dealers will remedy the issue at no charge by updating instrument-panel software or replacing the combination meter, with plug-in hybrids eligible for full panel replacements.
  • Owner notifications will arrive by mail, and recall status can be verified via NHTSA’s VIN lookup or by contacting Toyota customer service under recall numbers 25TB08/25TA08 and Lexus 25LB05/25LA05.
  • The defect can prevent display of vital indicators such as speed, brake warnings and tire pressure alerts, increasing the risk of a crash.
  • A concurrent Hyundai Palisade seat-belt buckle recall brings the combined U.S. total affected by the two actions to more than 1.1 million vehicles, according to regulators.
