Toyota Recalls 32,733 Sequoia and Tundra Trucks in Canada for Backup-Camera Fault

Toyota will mail notices by late November directing owners to a free dealer software fix for malfunctioning backup displays.

Overview

  • Transport Canada says a software issue can cause the rearview image to display incorrectly or not at all, raising crash risk when reversing.
  • The recall covers 2023–2025 Sequoia and 2022–2025 Tundra and Tundra Hybrid models equipped with a 14-inch multimedia display.
  • Toyota reports some screens may show a distorted half green, full green, or full black image, which could leave vehicles out of compliance with federal safety rules.
  • Dealerships will install a no-cost multimedia-display software update after owners receive written notification by late November 2025.
  • Owners can confirm eligibility via Toyota’s recall website using their VIN or by calling the company’s recall line, and the action follows a separate September recall of roughly 70,000 vehicles for screen issues.
