Toyota Recalls 1.12 Million Vehicles Over Airbag Sensor Issue
Faulty sensor could prevent airbags from deploying properly in certain models from 2020 to 2022.
- Toyota is recalling 1.12 million vehicles due to a potential faulty sensor that could prevent airbags from deploying properly.
- The recall includes Toyota Avalon, Camry, Corolla, RAV4, Highlander, and Sienna Hybrid vehicles, as well as Lexus ES250, ES300H, ES350, and RX350, from model years 2020 through 2022.
- The company will notify owners of the affected vehicles by the middle of February, and they will be able to take them to a Toyota or Lexus dealer for a sensor replacement.
- The recall is voluntary and is the third major recall by Toyota in as many months.
- The sensors ensure air bags do not deploy if a small adult or child is sitting in the front seat.
