Tourist Flight Offerings from Germany Rise by 3% for Summer 2025

Despite higher ticket prices, flights to Southern Europe and the Balkans see increased demand, while overall flight volumes remain below pre-pandemic levels.

The number of tourist flights from Germany is projected to grow by 3.3% compared to last summer, according to a study by the German Aerospace Center (DLR).
Popular destinations include Spain, Turkey, Italy, and Greece, with Palma de Mallorca remaining the top individual destination, receiving over 3,500 flights in July.
Flights to Southern Europe and the Balkans are increasing, while routes to North Africa and the Caribbean see declines.
Ticket prices remain high due to reduced flight offerings and increased state taxes and fees, placing Germany among the more expensive European countries for air travel.
Although tourist flight volumes are 5.8% higher than in 2019, the total number of flights from German airports is still 18.1% below pre-pandemic levels.
