Overview

• Returning from Niagara Falls, the coach lost control around midday, crossed the median and overturned into a ditch near mile marker 403.9 on the Thruway.
• Authorities report multiple fatalities, including at least one minor, and a large number of injured passengers.
• About 52 people were on board; many were citizens of India, China and the Philippines, and interpreters and consular contacts were deployed.
• State Police said many occupants were not wearing seat belts and several were ejected during the rollover.
• Air and ground crews moved patients to regional hospitals, with ECMC receiving the largest group and additional patients treated across Kaleida and other facilities.
